The music of Kris Wadsworth is undeniably physical. A hefty force of muscular drums and burly bass, with tightly worked grooves that compel one to get out and shake it on the dance floor. Yet, like a wrestler in a suit, there is a polished edge to Wadsworth’s work. Sultry chords dubbed over tasteful melodies, and the spice of a vocal sample that keeps your ear attentive. All these qualities are present in the seminal "Crushed" off his 2010 Escape From 48201 EP. Dreamy is almost too soft a word to describe "Crushed", but the nine minutes drift past quicker than you’d otherwise be prepared to admit. An excellent introduction to the repertoire of Wadsworth.
