Anchor 1

Currently going to school for design and enjoying the Brooklyn music scene while living in her tiny apartment. Listens to every genre in the book, but feels that you can never go wrong with some good chill indie electronic. All time favorites include Tame Impala, Portugal. The Man, Hippie Sabotage, Smashing Pumpkins, Cherry Glazerr, STRFKR.

Grew up listening to her sister's music and branched off to find interests in lo-fi DIY bands, colorful indie pop, and psychedelic rock. She particularly likes the works of Galaxie 500, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Pixies, Of Montreal, Adult Mom, and Starry Cat.

A jack of all trades, but now listens mostly to various types of rock, experimental, art rap, and abstract hiphop. Artists like Sufjan Stevens, Car Seat Headrest, Worlds End Girlfriend, Milo, and DJ Shadow are just a few of his favorites.

Raised under a rock in Cairo and now enjoys folk punk, bedroom pop and eurotrash psychadelia. Currently listening to Frankie Cosmos, Eskimeaux, Ramshackle Glory, AJJ, La Femme, and Kraftwerk.

WRITERS:

A small town girl stuck right dab in the middle of Philly's remarkable music scene. Briefly in an all girl lo-fi rock band. Always a fan of twee pop, DIY punk, and surprisingly, third wave ska. She finds inspiration and beauty from other POC indie trailblazers who make music and existence so much more interesting and dynamic.

Henry is an eclectic, esoteric and electric musician from California with a passion for drum & bass, downtempo, and techno. You can often find him trawling through crates of records when he’s not futzing around with his samplers. Amon Tobin, Calibre, Quantic, Teebee and Adam F sit high amongst his favorites.

Since seeing an Arcade Fire concert in 6th grade Kelly has been a big fan of all things music. Her interests include indie rock, dream pop, cool rhythms, lots of guitar, electronic music, Beyoncé and Mitski, but if she’s being honest she mostly listens to the Talking Heads on repeat.

Manhattan-born, Rhode Island-raised, Portland-based. He champions big bands, contemporary R&B, dad music, and anything with a funky beat. Her short list includes Talking Heads, Charles Mingus, Frank Ocean, Sylvan Esso, and Cocteau Twins.

WRITERS:

Raised in a family of Juilliard alums, Victoria has been consuming music long before she had the palette for it. However, her passion for electric bass would put her on a slightly different path, taking her from Red Rocks to Lollapalooza, and even to a small studio where she would record for Dee Snider (Twisted Sister). You can probably find her jamming out to Hop Along, Dirty Projectors, Alvvays, or Pinegrove when she's not rehearsing or roaming the subways of Manhattan.

Beijing ex-expatriate. The first time she listened to death metal she hated it—but couldn’t stop listening. Plays apocalyptic black metal and tender pop back to back. Never gets tired of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Ocean, Björk, Oneohtrix Point Never, and too many others to name. Anything that bills itself as experimental, genre-blending, or plain weird is catnip to her. Needs more chill tunes for her own good, to be honest.

PAST WRITERS:

Jamming out to music with chill vibes, they enjoy listening to downtempo indie and rock tunes from artists like Boy Scouts, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, and The Paper Kites.

His music taste is bits and pieces of electronic, instrumental hip-hop, and garage house, mashed together to create eccentric songs with a chilled beat.  His most listened-to artists include Klaus Veen, Birocratic, Geotheory, Justice, and Herzeloyde.

Listens to pretty much anything, but mostly to indie pop, dream pop, psychedelic rock, and some lo-fi. Deerhunter, Tame Impala, Cigarettes after Sex, Grimes, The Strokes, Neutral Milk Hotel, Wilco, LCD Soundsystem, and recently Elvis Depressedly are his favs.
