Gorillaz' New Song

TITLE: Hallelujah Money

ARTIST: Gorillaz

Released a day after the American inauguration.

After six years, Gorillaz has finally released new content. With media and music that highlights a political shift in the Western world, Gorillaz' "Hallelujah Money" features the trembling tenor tones of Bejamin Clementine. So far, reception has been mixed -- fans have either welcomed the return of Gorillaz' signature experimental pop sound, or rejected the seemingly monotone melodies. Not to mention, some listener reception is swayed by the political undertones of the song and video.

As for the video itself, Clementine stands as a ghostly figure as colorful scenes are projected upon him. The simple presentation, the power of Clementine's straightforward glance and unblinking eyes, all build tension to a stars and stripes filled scene that is only released through the abrupt and all-too perfect ending. Watch and listen below.
